The Beijing Lotus Hostel offers the traveler a perfect model of Chinese houses, with their yards, rooms, inner gates, outer gates, verandas, drawing rooms, private schools, garages, screens, gardens and kitchens.

The most valuable rooms are found in a quadrangle courtyard with the main room located in the northern section. There are only two rooms in this section, just like in the traditional courtyard, and it has a main hall with the ancestral tablet set at the center. Room rates start at 60 yuan for four-to-six bed dormitories with a common bathroom. The main hall occupies the highest position with a bay that is much better than the other rooms in both height and depth. The other kinds of accommodations are: the deluxe double room, the standard double or twin-bed rooms with their own private bathroom, and the Chinese traditional bedroom with a common bathroom.

Because a large part of traditional Chinese culture is devoted to food and drinks, the Beijing Lotus Hostel has a tea shop that allows the visitor to taste Chinese tea culture. Also made available around the area of the hostel are the more than 250 kinds of traditional Chinese snacks, with many of them made of soy beans, glutinous rice and fried materials. The hostel’s restaurant also offers Chinese dishes and snack foods so that the guest will not even need to go out.

Guests who arrive by airplane are advised to take the Shuttle Bus Line Number 2 to the Xidan Aviation Buildig and then take Bus Number 22 to get to the Ping’anli shop. The hostel is located in the opposite hutong. For those who arrive by train, they are advised to taken Bus Number 808 to get them to the Ping’anli shop.
